The pine trees are put up, the ribbons and festive lights are in place, the candles are ready to be lit… For those who haven’t noticed, Christmas is coming. And La Villa French Restaurant is getting ready for the most joyful time of the year.

Chef Thierry, Ms. Tina and all the staff would like to wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to our valued customers, suppliers, friends, followers and to all the lovers of French gastronomy around the world!

A dream in red, green and gold: La Villa keeps it classy during the festive season.

We’re all dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones we used to know. Well, we’re afraid we can’t give you that. But here you’ll find one of the few places in Saigon where a true, Western-style holiday season is recreated. We’ve decorated with a cosy, classic, red-green-gold theme, complete with traditional Christmas tunes from our live band and a dedicated team to put you in a cheerful mood.

Of course, La Villa wouldn’t be La Villa if we hadn’t prepared two gala menus for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Caviar, foie gras, traditional-style stuffed poultry, black truffle, lobster… nothing but the finest food will be waiting for you. So come on over and indulge in an authentic French Christmas experience!

The Magic of Christmas

Have you ever felt it, that special spirit in the air? The French call it ‘la magie de Noël’ – the magic of Christmas. It’s when we forget all our sorrows because we know the most jolly time of the year is ahead; it’s when our daily troubles give way to a warm ambience of loving, sharing and forgiving; it’s when people nestle down in their homes to hide from the annual winter cold and celebrate with their loved ones.

Granted, it’s hard to get into the Christmas mood while you’re sweating in Saigon’s blazing tropical heat. But La Villa is proud to be one of the few places in the city that manage to create a real Christmas feeling despite the un-Christmassy climate.

Last year was the first time we turned our restaurant into a festive fairyland, with a splendid, vintage décor reminiscent of the cosiness of French rural houses during holiday season. Even in District 2’s Thao Dien Ward, Saigon’s expat hub with the highest Westerner-per-square-kilometre rate in town, you’ll have trouble finding a place that stays true to Occidental decorative traditions like La Villa.

Our Christmas doorkeepers? Two snowy pine trees!

The Oooh

Once you step through our door, you enter the wonderful world of European Christmas. You’re welcomed with warm colours and lights, as well as two “snowed-in” pine trees. Guitar, violin and electric piano players fill the eating area with festive chamber music, while the classy Christmas decorations in red, green and gold, and the candle-lit tables, set the atmospheric stage for a chic, 5-star feast.

And isn’t Christmas that time of the year when we share what’s most special with our family and friends? La Villa proudly introduces an exceptional addition to the supreme dining experience at our restaurant: on Christmas and New Year’s Eve, our newly purchased, premium silverware made in France awaits all our guests.

Prepare for a festive setup that reaches the standards of the world’s most elegant venues!

The Mmmm

Get ready to be spoilt with a festive menu that draws inspiration from traditional French Christmas foods. Chef Thierry has put together a selection of the finest products that he loves to eat during the holiday season.

Some highlights include the Hokkaido Sea Scallop to tease your taste-buds the fine-dining way; the French Cockerel, a small chicken stuffed with foie gras and black winter truffles, accompanied by mashed potatoes and savoury truffle sauce; and the all-time-classic Christmas Log to round things out. This is French Christmas gone world-class.

Our dining room sets the perfect stage for a Christmas dinner like none other.

And on New Year’s Eve, we won’t let you leave without a good plateful of foie gras. But this is barely the prelude for a sumptuous dinner featuring a heavenly tender Wagyu Beef Tenderloin and a Brittany Blue Lobster to die for. How does that sound?

Rest assured that, as usual, we choose nothing but the most exquisite imported products.

On request, both menus will be paired with a sterling selection of first-class wines from France and around the world, matching the bold flavours of our supreme food menus to give you unforgettable Christmas memories.

What Else You Should Know-Ho-Ho

Note that we’ll be serving this festive menu exclusively on Christmas Eve, that is, during dinner time on 24 December.  However, if you can’t make it, we invite you to a belated Christmas lunch on 25 December. You’ll also have the option to order à la carte.

The same goes for New Year’s Eve: dinner on 31 December will just be our special menu, while you can choose between festiveness and business as usual on the first day of the new year.

Our garden area has never been more Christmassy!

So there’s nothing left to say other than this:

May your holiday season sparkle and shine, and may all your wishes and dreams come true!

Sincerely, Your La Villa Team
